The Vincennes University Department of Multicultural affairs is presenting a Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Tuesday, January 28th. This event will be held at the Green Activities center, 200 West Harrison Street in Vincennes. Keynote speakers include Dr. Mary Hamilton and Dr. Kadance Hinton. The Purdue Extension Knox County Health & Human Sciences depart along with the Vincennes Salvation Army is hosting a “Be Heart Smart” program. This will be a four week course to learn about risk factors for cardiovascular disease and action steps to prevent or reduce the potential for negative outcomes like heart attack or stroke. Vincennes Universities college of technology is offering “A DAY WITH ROBOTS” for children in grades 5th – 12th. This event will take place on February 1st from 9:30 AM until 3:00PM at the College of Technology, 1300 North Chestnut Street in Vincennes. Every participant will receive a circuit board, lunch and a long sleeve shirt. All participants must be registered by January 20th. Vincennes states historic sites will be hosting “Princess Camp” on Saturday, February 22nd from 10:00AM to 12:30PM. Participants will learn about manners from the 1800s, including how to curtsy or bow, write with a quill and how letters were sealed and stamped. They will also have tea time, royalty-themed crafts and a royal makeover as well as pictures afterward. Registration for this event is required by Feb. 14th.
