5 Teenagers Injured in Knox County Accident

A Friday evening accident in Knox County resulted in five teenagers being injured.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department says around 5pm deputies responded to US 50 near Robinson Road after a report of a single vehicle crash.

Police say a 17-year old male was driving westbound on US 50, when for unknown reasons, he crossed over the center median and spun around in the east bound lanes, before rolling over at least once. The vehicle came to a rest in the center median.

Police say at least two of the 5 occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

A 15-year old female and 17-year old male were transported by ambulance to Daviess County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the other three teenagers, the 17-year old male driver, a 17-year old male passenger and 14-year old female passenger, were all transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where they were stabilized and then flown to surrounding hospitals by helicopter.

The Sheriff’s Department says further information will be released after families have been notified.
